WITHOUT A DOUBT- the most prevalent failure of God’s people throughout redemptive history has been their lack of resolve to remain separate from the unrighteous lifestyle and value system of the society and culture around them. Worldliness: being concerned with material values or ordinary life to the point of neglecting a spiritual existence; thinking and behaving like unbelievers do, and desiring prohibited pleasures, whether pleasures of the body or the eyes, or the pleasure of achieving a high status.
“Also all the chiefs of the priests and the people trespassed greatly in accord with all the abominations of the heathen, and they polluted the house of the Lord which He had hallowed in Jerusalem.” 2 Chronicles 36:14
If history has revealed anything, instead of abhorring and abstaining from the immoral values, customs and lifestyles of the world; all too often the people of God are attracted to and then conformed to the culture in which we live. Paul’s letters are hammered out of concern to remain faithful to the gospel preached to them. Christ’s messages to the seven churches reveal patterns of unfaithfulness to Him by adopting worldly values. So here we find ourselves in the year 2023, an apostate church shaped by the world’s morals, pastors preaching tickling messages to appease the masses, an “I’ll do what I want” mentality, an adulterous generation seeking for signs and polluting the church, treating her as a prostitute. Women dressing like prostitutes and teaching their daughters to do the same. A time of judgment is at hand.
Get your house in order. “Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”” II Corinthians 6:17
What is the Lord asking us to do? Separate from the world and its ways of thinking, dressing, acting and talking. Repent and fall down in humble submission. Return to Him and His ways and He will abundantly pardon and heal. Revival is not you running around in the Spirit or pushing your way with empty praise; but falling down in repentance, mourn your selfish sins, change your mind and actions and seek His face. Another great awakening can happen when and if God’s people repent.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,” Acts 3:19 NKJV
