IT IS PAINFUL WHEN someone who is supposed to love you, forgets about you. It’s human nature to forget: people who love you forget your birthday, forget you’re hurting and in pain, they forget you invited them to a party; or whatever the case may be.
People forget. I forget. And the older I get, the more I forget. BUT GOD never forgets. “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:15-16
This is a Word for Israel, but it applies to His children, those who have been bought by the precious blood of Jesus, “Your own mother can forget you, but not Me. I will not forget you.” The greatest love is not the love of a mother for a child; it’s the love of the Father for His children. Do not put human characteristics on God. He is not a man that He should lie. David said more of the same, “When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.”Psalms 27:10
The Lord knows how to take care of and deliver His own. But not everyone is a child of God, contrary to what many are telling us. In a creative sense, humans are God’s beautiful and unique creation. However, only those born again of the Holy Spirit and washed in the blood of Jesus are His sons and daughters and receive His special attention.
In fact, John tells us that those who continue to live a life of sin are children of the devil. They have not yet been translated into Christ’s kingdom. (Read 1 John 3) Those who continue to sin have the nature of the devil. But those born again have put on Christ and taken on the nature of the Father. Having taken on His nature, we take on His name and fall under His protection, guidance and fatherhood.
Therefore, you may FEEL forgotten, but you are not. Your emotions are playing tricks on your mind. He maybe silent right now, He may be working things out for your good and you can’t see the final draft; but He has NOT forgotten you. He cannot forget and He will not. He is not a man that He should lie. He is a great and merciful God. He knows what you are going through and He cares. He has not left you alone.
You may not know what He is doing, but HE knows what He’s doing, and that’s all that matters. Cling to His Word in which He causes you to hope. One day, you will look back and see His hand in every detail of your life and that He has in fact not forgotten about you throughout every season. Keep your eyes on the prize! You will get there with His help and in His strength. #runyourrace
