I SHALL NOT BE MOVED. Is this your catchword? Do you proclaim these words over your life? Do you daily encourage yourself that you are planted in the house of the Lord? Are you anchored on the Rock of salvation? What does it mean to be anchored? Well, it means that:
“I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” Psalms 16:8
The Psalmist’s anticipation is a singularly modest one. ‘Because He is at my right hand I shall’-What? Be triumphant? No! Escape sorrows? No! Have my life filled with serenity? No! ‘I shall not be moved.’ That is the best I can hope for. To be able to stand on the spot, with steadfast convictions, with steadfast purposes, with steadfast actions-continuously in one direction; ‘having overcome all, to stand’-that is as much as the best of us can desire or expect, in this poor struggling life of ours.
You are firmly fixed in a secure place, cemented in place and by golly, nothing or no one can move you. I am trusting in my Lord.
No tempest can unhinge you.
No stormy waves can thrash you.
No person can tempt and seduce you away.
No science or new philosophy can change your mind.
No, you are FIRMLY FIXED on the Ancient of Days.
And because “I SHALL NOT BE MOVED”,
No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
No man can pluck you from His hand.
No words can penetrate your soul. Trials and tests will come, people will speak evil against you, the enemy will come in like a flood to destroy; let them come because
I SHALL NOT BE MOVED.
“Those who trust in the LORD Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.” Psalms 125:1-2
ARE YOU ANCHORED ON THE ROCK?
Settle this today in your heart and in your mind, tell that devil to go back to hell because I have set the Lord always before me and I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!
