In Acts 4, Peter and John return to the church after being threatened by the same religious leaders who had condemned Jesus. The church gathers and prays together, grounding their prayer in God’s sovereignty, Psalm 2, and the finished work of Christ. Pastor Erik highlights four marks of biblical prayer: prayer is done in community, prayer is worship-based rather than merely request-based, prayer is driven by God’s Word, and prayer should aim at salvation and gospel boldness.
