CONGRUENT FIGURES are identical in size and shape; the side lengths and angles are the same. They can be rotated, reflected, or translated, and still be congruent. Likewise, congruence describes the match between an individual’s inner feelings and outer display. The congruent person is genuine. You can rotate them, put them in different situations and circumstances and their words will always match up with their actions. I don’t see many congruent people anymore.
I see a lot of humanity led by their feelings and emotions during this tumultuous season; when just a few years ago they proclaimed something entirely different with their mouths. What happened? Circumstances reflect character. I heard a friend say, “Covid reveals character”. Or perhaps you could say, “Fearful and unknown times reveal character”.
There’s a reason time and time again in Scripture the Word proclaims, “do not fear”. Fear is spoken of over 500 times in the KJV. Furthermore, in addition to the “Fear nots”, the Bible teaches us to fear God, which really means reverence God alone and do not fear anyone or anything else. Every time I feel the spirit of fear rise up to overtake me, I hear Jesus’ words ring in my ear,
“O you of little faith”.
Will He that made me out of dust not take care of me? He that formed me in my mother’s womb, can He not keep me? Can I add one day to me life when He has my days in His hands? Whom/what/why/how can I fear? Fear reveals a lack of trust in Him. Period. Commune with your heart. What are you so afraid of?
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”” Romans 8:14-15 NKJV
I am a black and white person. I don’t do well with the gray areas, it’s just how my mind works. Therefore, God speaks to me in direct ways and I speak and write directly. For all you bottom line people I will pose you a question: are you trusting God?
When I come to a place of confusion or turmoil in my spirit, when I come to a circumstance of fear; I have to stand back and ask myself, “Am I trusting God?” Because if I am trusting God, I would not be operating in fear, worry, anxiety or doubt. If I’m fearful, worrisome, anxious or doubtful; I’m not trusting God. That’s the bottom line.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”Proverbs 3:5-6
And there it is, “TRUST GOD” and do not trust “your own understanding”. It’s very black and white, simple and easy to understand. You have to stop yourself and ask, “Am I really trusting God?” Because it’s either in His hands or its in your hands. Either He can change the situation or He cannot. Either you have prayed about it and left it at the altar, or you haven’t and keep picking it back you.
Either God is carrying the burden or you are. He will direct your path; IF you acknowledge Him in all your ways. But, IF you rebel against His ways, THEN you get your path and your destructive ways. Very easy and simple. Trusting God is not trusting Him for your ways and outcome; it’s trusting IN HIM, that He knows what’s best for you and that He will take care of you in His way and in His time. It’s simple. Do you trust God?
