GOD CALLS HIS PEOPLE to different positions and assignments in the Body. Some He has called to be pastors and teachers, but some He has called to political offices and platforms. Some have a gift of healing and some have a gift of hospitality. Some speak in tongues while others have the gift of faith. God places His people where He wants them and He uses us how He wants to use us,
“Whatever the Lord pleases, that has He done in the heavens and on earth, in the seas and all deeps–” Psalm 135:6
“Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’” Matthew 20:15
IF we let Him. You can always shelf your gift, but you cannot cut another down because they are not called to do what you have been called to; nor can you exalt another because you view their assignment as higher than another’s. It’s all His.
The Body needs us all to be busy doing the assignments the Lord has given out. I know a pastor that God have him a special grace to enter the political field. I know women given special assignments to fight against the sexual education curriculum and abortion.
Quick side note: neither your assignment nor your gifting from the Lord are your “purpose”. There’s a lot of teaching about “your purpose” nowadays. Your purpose is to live to please Him and give glory to God. Don’t get lost trying to find purpose in a work for God. Whatever your hands find to do, do it to the glory of the Lord and live as a child of God.
Back to my daily. Who are you to attack another’s assignment in the Lord? It is God who justifies. We will all answer to Him, whether or not we did what He asked. You would do well to keep your unkind words and attacks to yourself. Man will give an account of every idle word spoken. Accusations are of the enemy.
Satan is the accuser of the brethren. Therefore when you accuse another, you show kinship to Satan. Jesus rebuked Peter in front of the other disciples, saying, “Get thee behind Me Satan” because Peter was not seeking the purpose of God. Be careful He doesn’t say the same to you.
I know my assignment and I stick to it. I know what He has called me to do and to say. I cannot get sidetracked because I’m not doing what you want me to do. The attacks are real, but should they really be from our own people? Here’s some advice: mind your own business and keep your eyes on your own race. What’s it to you what Jesus does with His own? Are you doing the assignment the Lord has given you? Then do it with all your heart and do not give an ear to the haters.
“Peter, seeing John, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”” John 21:21-22
