Monday, May 18th-Life Is More Fragile Than You Think
Summary
Most people spend their lives trying to avoid thinking about death, but Scripture constantly reminds us how fragile life really is. One moment everything feels normal, and the next everything changes. Eternity feels uncomfortable, people fill their lives with distraction. Noise, entertainment, endless scrolling, constant busyness, anything to avoid asking deeper questions about the soul. It is appointed for man to die once, and after this comes judgment. Christianity only makes sense when life is viewed through eternity. Grace becomes precious when we realize how temporary this life truly is.

Lord Heavenly Father, help me live with the awareness that my life belongs to You and my days are not guaranteed. Please forgive me for wasting time on things that pull my heart away from eternity. Wake me up where I have become distracted, careless, or spiritually numb. Teach me to value holiness, worship, repentance, and obedience while I still have breath in my lungs. Let the reality of eternity make me more serious about following Christ and more grateful for Your mercy. Help me not fear death as someone without hope, but to live soberly and faithfully before You. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Tuesday, May 19th-After This, the Judgment
Summary
We have been given a truth that cannot be avoided: after death comes judgment. Every person will stand before Christ and give an account for their life. God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil. Many people avoid this truth because it is uncomfortable, but ignoring it does not remove it. This is why delayed repentance is so dangerous. People assume there will always be another opportunity to make things right. Another Sunday. Another altar call. Another chance to apologize, forgive, reconcile, or change. But nobody knows the day or the hour. Jesus warned about the rich fool who planned for tomorrow while ignoring eternity. The judgment seat of Christ should sober the heart, not because God delights in condemnation, but because eternity is real and sin is serious.

Show me where I have become comfortable with compromise or spiritually lazy. Teach me to fear You rightly, not with hopeless terror, but with reverence and humility. Thank You that conviction is evidence of Your mercy and not Your abandonment. Help me respond quickly when You speak instead of hardening my heart or pushing conviction aside. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Wednesday, May 20th-The Danger of “Later”
Summary
One of the most dangerous lies the heart can believe is, “I’ll deal with it later.” Later I will repent. Later I will forgive. Later I will fully surrender to God. But the problem with “later” is that nobody is promised it. People delay reconciliation and repentance because they assume more time is coming. Meanwhile bitterness grows, sin deepens, conviction weakens, and hearts become harder. God is gracious and patient, and He continually calls people to repent, forgive, reconcile, and obey. But many resist because they want comfort without surrender and grace without transformation. God’s patience is mercy, but it should never be mistaken for approval. The right response to conviction is obedience while the door of mercy still stands open.

Thursday, May 21st-The Conviction of the Holy Spirit
Summary
Conviction is one of the greatest mercies God gives His people. Feeling the weight of sin and the fear of God is not evidence of abandonment. It is evidence that the Holy Spirit is still working. A dangerous place to be is living in continual sin with no grief, no battle, and no desire to change. The Christian life is not perfection, but it is warfare. Real believers struggle, repent, fight, and return to Christ again and again. God does not call His people to complacency. He calls them to holiness. The church is not meant to minimize sin or obsess over earthly pleasures. It is meant to lead believers toward worship, repentance, surrender, and transformation. Conviction may feel uncomfortable, but it is far better than a hardened heart that no longer responds to God at all.

Friday, May 22nd-Christ, Our Only Refuge
Summary
The same Christ who will judge the world is the very Christ who died to save it. That is the hope of the Gospel. Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. He entered heaven itself on behalf of His people, and His blood purchased the inheritance sinners could never earn on their own. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins, and Jesus willingly became the sacrifice humanity needed. The cross was not symbolic. His suffering was real. His blood was real. His death was real. But so is His mercy. Those who trust in Christ do not stand before judgment alone because Christ stands before the Father for them. Believers can have confidence in the day of judgment, not because they are perfect, but because Jesus is enough.

Remind me that forgiveness is not permission to continue in sin, but freedom to walk in righteousness. Keep my heart near the cross and grateful for Your mercy. Saturday, May 23rd-Living Like the Forgiven
Summary
There is a massive difference between living like you have been forgiven and sinning while assuming you will be forgiven. When someone truly understands the mercy of God, it changes how they live. Grace produces gratitude, holiness, and a greater desire to honor Christ. People often ask how close they can get to sin without falling, but a heart changed by grace asks a different question: “How do I honor Christ with my life?” Holiness is not about earning salvation. It is about loving the Savior who already died and rose again. What you feed your heart matters. Certain influences weaken the pursuit of holiness and slowly pull the soul away from God. Saturday is also a time to prepare your heart for worship tomorrow. Church should never become a casual routine. Believers gather because Christ is worthy of worship and because hearts desperately need His presence.

Sunday, May 24th-Ready to Meet Him
Summary
Every man dies, but not every man truly lives. Eternity changes how life is lived now. Jesus Christ has provided the way of salvation through His death, burial, and resurrection. Eternal life is received by faith through trusting Him completely. The world chases temporary inheritances that perish, but Christ offers everlasting life. Many people remain spiritually unsatisfied because they are feeding on the wrong bread. Jesus said He is the bread of life, and whoever comes to Him shall never hunger or thirst again. Sunday is not simply another event to attend. It is an opportunity to gather with the people of God, worship Christ, hear His Word, and sincerely respond to Him. Believers should not enter church casually or distracted. Hearts should come prepared, humbled, repentant, expectant, and grateful. The same Christ who will judge the world is still extending mercy today.
