Hear The Call Of God

• God can use you Ex 31:1-10, God appoints Bezalel and Aholiab, filled with His Spirit, wisdom, and skill, to lead the construction of the Tabernacle
• God equips them and other artisans to craft sacred items. It shows His provision of gifts and leadership to fulfill His divine purposes. 
• You’ve heard the statement and its true- God equips the called he doesn’t call the equipped
• The life application for us in Exodus 31:1-10 is that God equips and empowers His people with unique gifts, talents, and skills for His purposes. God equipped these men to build tabernacle
• Just as Bezalel and Aholiab were called and filled with His Spirit for their work, believers are supposed to use their God-given abilities to serve others, glorify Him, and contribute to His mission on this earth. We have to be open to God’s callings and promptings for our lives. 

• every role, whether spiritual or practical, is vital in His kingdom. We all matter to the mission
• We must faithfully answer His call and trust that He will provide the resources needed to accomplish His work. The HS is at work. The power of God to equip is real. Lean into it. 
• He calls. He fills. He appoints. He commands. But we must respond and remain in him. 
• As a believer, you must answer the call of God and fulfill his divine purpose for your life. 

1. God Calls

• In this scripture we see the calling and implementation of the plan to build the tabernacle
• This work, for Gods tabernacle was so important that he steps in and takes the task of selection upon himself. He doesn’t tell Moses to go and look. He doesn’t cast lots or lay a fleece. Its him. 
• 2 “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 
• God called them by name. He didn’t just say “grab someone” he says “These two guys”
• These two guys are significant- Bezalel Tribe of Judah: Judah was the tribe of leadership and kingship, from which King David and, ultimately, Jesus Christ descended (Genesis 49:8-10).
• This lineage connects Bezalel to a heritage of prominence and leadership in the bible story
• the chief craftsman who is being entrusted with creating the sacred place of Gods presence
• The Tribe of Judah has extensive importance of leadership and spiritual significance. 
• Aholiab Tribe of Dan: Dan was one of the lesser-known tribes in Israel’s history.
• The inclusion of someone from Dan demonstrates that God values every tribe and calls individuals from all walks of life to contribute to His purposes. (huge- not just kings)
• God calls all types of people from all backgrounds of life to accomplish his purposes
• 1 cor 12:22-23 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
• We so ignorantly look at certain callings and giftings and give greater credence to particular parts of the Church, when in actuality, all of the parts are necessary
• I Injured my pinky- seems insignificant until you do it. Its where hand strength comes from. 
• No one ever says- bro- nice pinky. Killing it bro. But its IMPORTANT. God made it on purpose
• 1 cor12:12,24 as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For in fact the body is not one member but many.
• Judah and Dan show big significance or small. God pulls them together for HIS purpose
• Just like in the Church- People from all types of backgrounds accomplishing HIS purposes
• Back to the calling– Its God that calls. an invitation- God will pull someone towards something
• There’s two Types of Calling- A general call- All are drawn to salvation, all are called to serve, give, fellowship, lay down their life- “Im not called to that” (me serving in CM, Clean V Called)
• Then there’s a specific call– God calls people for specific works and tasks inside and outside the church. There are full time ministry callings, lay ministry, support ministry SPECIFIC
• There’s also vocational callings. We cant all be pastors. We need all types of people 
• They are in the mission field and support the work of the ministry and evangelize
• It’s a blessing to have all types of people. They all are needed for the building of HIS church
• How do you find that calling? 

• Realize you are called Eph 2:10 we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
• Realize you have a gift 1 Pe 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another
• Lean on God Pro 3:5 Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding
• You pray. You fast. You are honest with God and the Holy Spirit. You seek wise counsel. 
• Its where your desires line up with your giftings and divine opportunities
• My life- Want to preach. I can preach. God directed divine opportunities for it. 
• Its “Ineffable” -something so profound, extraordinary, or transcendent that it cannot be adequately expressed in words and must be personally encountered to be understood.
• Presence of God, Profound love, Awe inspiring Nature, Overwhelming Joy, Artistic expression
• Engage the process. Young people start now. Old people not too late. 

2. God Fills

• Here’s the best part- when God calls. God fills. When the calling comes upon someone, the Holy Spirit will always come and fill that individual up with the necessary tools to accomplish. 
• 3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, 4 to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, 5 in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.
• Notice the parts of the filling of God and how it comes from the Holy Spirit. God does it
• To be able to accomplish that which God has called you to, you need to be filled to do it. 
• You cannot do the tasks and callings of God without the power of God. It wont sustain
• I’m in a season where I’m recalling the past 21 years- I get it. But I’ve got time under my belt
• It was God that Called me and it was God that equipped me. I have been given supernatural ability that far exceeds anything that I could learn or be trained in. I know its from God. 
• I’m not special. I cant describe where you’re at- I can only describe where I’m at. 
• God will give you Knowledge Prov 2:6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
• Knowledge is knowing what is true. You know what is right and wrong its factual
• You are able to gather facts and see what is right and wrong. 
• God will give you Understanding Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
• The ability to discern, interpret, and comprehend the meaning of knowledge. It involves insight into how things work and why they matter. You know what a plunger is and how to use it. 
• Understanding shows you why it is true and how it works. The right tool (knowledge) Understanding (how to use it effectively) 
• God will give you Wisdom James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
• The practical application of knowledge and understanding. It is the ability to make godly choices and live in alignment with God’s will.- Godly application of knowledge and understanding. 
• Wisdom teaches you how to apply the truth in real life. In Love. Glorifying God. 
• You can learn knowledge and understanding, but Only the HS can impart wisdom. 
• Leadership example- Conflict Resolution

• A team member is causing discord, and morale is suffering. Something needs to be done
• Knowledge: Gather facts about the conflict, understand the perspectives of all parties
• Understanding: Discern the root cause of the conflict—why did this happen
• Wisdom: Apply the most effective solution, balancing firmness with compassion
• Don’t forget- Workmanship Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
• The skill or quality demonstrated in the creation or execution of something: Making good stuff
• It refers to the level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and excellence exhibited in the finished product or process of making something.- ALL THAT GOD GIVES IS FOR WORK DONE
• If God doesn’t get involved with this- it doesn’t have the right shine on it. You can see God in it
• It’s why only certain people can write songs, paint pictures, lead teams, speak, sing, create
• There are some jobs that only certain people can do. Repetitive creative tasks-certain people. 
• How are you filled? You must fully submit to God, lay your life on the altar and ask for his filling
• Its ‘ineffable’ again. You need a supernatural experience with God to be equipped in this way
• Its not a one time thing, its an ongoing thing- where as you continue to pray, submit, read etc God continues to fill as you continue to submit. You can have a zeal not according to knowledge
• Continual disobedience and inconsistent walking with God produces lackluster filling
• I’ve seen it. Cycles of obedience and submission produces Godly results. Inconsistency- not
• John 15:4-5  READ
• You stay connected to the vine you get fruit. You get out there on your own, you can do nothing
• And much of this fruit can only be produced over time. It cant be quick. It takes time

3. God appoints. 

• God places people in their divine appointment. Don’t force yourself into these positions. 
• There’s no spiritual benefit from trying to ascend to a throne that you weren’t intended for
• Its curious to me- but some people enter the kingdom of God unregenerated and then want to climb to the top of a seemingly spiritual corporate ladder where they can have prestige
• The top of the ladder is washing feet and serving others. Not being in charge. 
• Jesus set the standard- last be first first be last. The pinnacle of his influence was death
• If you try to shove yourself into something that you want that God doesn’t want, goes bad. 
• 6 “And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; 
• Appointed means placed. Just as God placed these men for the tabernacle, he will place you as well. God has a place that he wants you in and its not your job to put yourself there. 
• Appointing is placing. It’s the divine process of God interjecting into the human existence and placing people in specific places at specific times to do specific tasks. Puts people in their place
• A specific career. A specific spouse. A specific House. A specific City. A specific family. 
• We serve a God of specifics. He is actively engaged in your life and you must submit to it. 
• Gen 2:8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.
• If you look back on your life, you will see the fingerprints of God and his placing of you. 
• Yes, there may have been some miniscule influence you had in decision making (possibly) but typically, you see that God used others and circumstance to direct you to a specific purpose
• Placed you in a school, neighborhood, job, city, team, family etc. that if it didn’t work out that way, it wouldn’t have worked out that way. One small decision (God is sovereign over free will)
• Even you being in this church, there were a set of spiritual circumstances that directed it
• 1 Cor 12:18 God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
• So what does that mean to you? That means that you have to trust the process of God and his ability to place you in places of influence that he wants you to be over. 
• Don’t try to ascend to a place. Take the lowly place at the table and do the necessary work
• And God will promote you. God will place you. God will appoint you. 
• And when you get to that place- realize that it was God that did it, and praise his name for it
• Give him your best work and best effort so that you can give him the excellence he deserves. 

Here’s the last part of it

4. God Commands

• This is a theme that I continually reiterate within my sermons because it continually comes up
• “According to all that I have commanded you they shall do.”
• We serve a God of commands. And praise God that we have them to direct us. 
• 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
• I like having a road map. I like having clear directions and instructions for what to do
• This is why kids that are not given discipline do not feel loved, because they have no standard
• When you meet a standard, it gives you a sense of connectedness with the person over you
• When I please my parents and meet their demands, when I have a boss, a coach, God
• I can look at my life and say, “I’m doing what I’m supposed to do, and they are pleased”
• Jesus said- John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
• And I do love him. I want to keep them. And part of that is the command of my calling
• If your life has been placed in the hands of the maker, he can do with you what he wills
• Isaiah 45:9 Shall the clay say to him who forms it, “What are you making?”
• It’s like this- being as real as possible- there’s an inkling of me that wouldn’t mind thousands of people listening to my sermons and buying my books- but I refuse to build my brand
• Many pastors do this. SM, marketing etc. Crafted images, toned down approach. 
• I wont do it. God calls, God Fills, and then GOD appoints. His commands are to seek first the kingdom of righteousness, and all these things shall be added. I’m submitted to his will. 
• I get the waiting and insignificance. Its whatever. I’d rather be obedient unto death
• Listen for the calling, you will be filled, God will appoint you, but keep his commands.
