Freed By Praise

In this powerful message, Pastor Lashund Lambert preaches from 1 Samuel 21:10-15, where David flees from Saul and finds himself afraid before Achish, king of Gath. Though David had already been anointed and had defeated Goliath, fear caused him to run toward the very people he had once overcome. Pastor Lambert teaches that fear can make the enemy appear safer than obedience to God, but praise turns our attention away from the threat and back toward the Lord. Drawing from the Hebrew word behind David’s “pretended madness,” he challenges believers to praise God openly, boldly, and without embarrassment, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. Freedom does not come through compromise, silence, or self-preservation, but through trusting God, standing in the identity He has given us, and praising Him in the presence of our enemies.
